Lake Paterno
Lake Paterno, standing at an elevation of 430 m., is a very ancient lake situated near the ruins of ancient Cotilia in the territory of Castel San t'Angelo. Surrounded by nature and silence, the crystal-clear waters of Lake Paterno represent a popular destination for both visitors and tourists. The lake is 190 m. long and 150 m. wide, while its depth, due to an underground emissary, varies from 137 to 154 m. The surrounding landscape is pleasant and picturesque and the panoramic viewpoint of the small village of Paterno, situated on the slopes of the homonymous mountain, offers a magnificent view of the Val Velina and its three small lakes.
